8 health and wellness goddesses you should get to know right now

Seems like just yesterday we were making NYE plans and scribbling down our resolutions hoping to completely transform our lives. Now, it’s April: How are those resolutions coming along? Probably not so great (things happen), and that’s okay because luckily, it’s never too late to start making positive changes towards improving our overall health, wellness, and happiness. And with so many yogis, healers, nutritionists, organic chefs, spiritual gurus, and all-round wellness goddesses using social media to amplify their voices and spread their missions, it has never been easier to access the information needed to help us take that first small step.

The way we view our health has definitely evolved over the years. Today, more people are moving away from external quick coverups or fixes and searching for ways to heal their bodies and improve their minds from the inside using holistic methods. For example, through Ayurvedic medicine — it is one of the world’s oldest holistic (“whole-body”) healing systems and is based on the belief that health and wellness depends on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit.

What a time to be alive! The 8 women on this list are completely redefining what it means to be healthy. (Yes, we’re taking notes.)

1Francheska Medina

After healing herself from a chronic illness, Francheska, more popularly known as “HeyFranHey” became a major health enthusiast. She has spent countless hours researching natural living and sharing her wisdom through her YouTube channel and lifestyle blog. Fran has established herself as a go-to for all things all-natural for the mind, body, and soul. From the best green smoothies to the most amazing DIY body butters, Fran has all the keys.

2Hasnaa At-Tauhidi

Hasnaa currently works at a non-profit, cultural, and wellness center. And in her own words while speaking with The Hood Witch,

“I teach workshops about specific Spirit based wellness practices. I make kits that include tools for vibrational attunement. I have a lot of different mediums but I work mostly with plant and earth medicine. That's the work that I’m blessed to do. My focus is on channeling ancient hidden wisdom, disseminating it, making it very tangible and accessible for everyone to integrate into their daily lives.

Hasnaa along with HeyFranHey and Yeradmi (not listed here) have recently joined forces to bring wellness to your city with their Supernatural Wellness Tour.

3Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts

Known to most as ChelseaLovesYoga, Chelsea is a certified yoga instructor, educator, doctor, and kind of a rockstar. She’s created a yoga and literacy curriculum for youth organizations, and provides training for other yoga practitioners. If anyone can help you find the balance you so desperately seek, we’d say Chelsea would be your best bet.

4Millana Snow

Millana Snow co-founded SERENE Social — an international wellness company exclusively for women. She is an entrepreneur, model, actress, Reiki healer, and occasional YouTuber. Snow says, “I love to connect, whether it’s with people, the planet or greater consciousness, my intention is live a healthy and meaningful life and help others to do the same.”

5Rochelle Bilow

Rochelle’s Instagram feed has become our latest obsession. It is filled with recipe upon recipe of healthy goodness. If scrolling through Rochelle’s feed doesn’t make you want to go for a run, cook up some fresh veggies, or roll out that dusty yoga mat…we’re not sure what will.

6Lauren Ash

It’s almost impossible to think of “health and wellness goddesses” and #BlackGirlMagic without thinking of Lauren Ash — because she so effortlessly embodies both. According to her website, Lauren has recently kicked off her multi-city yoga tour! Her next stop? Atlanta! She hosts audio meditations, consulting services, events, and writes often.

She also co-founded Black Girl In Om, which is an organization committed to promoting holistic wellness and self-care for women of color.

7Dr. Crystal Jones

Dr. Crystal Jones is licensed chiropractor, holistic doula, holistic health counselor, and Reiki healer. Crystal says,

“I show up as a guide for women that are ready to do the work and hold space for the integrity of the healing process - whatever that looks like.

Sounds to us like she’s on a mission to heal the world and we totally support it.
