764 dogs in bandanas broke a world record this weekend
764 dogs in Australia came together over the weekend to break the world record for the largest number of dogs wearing bandanas in one location. (Side note: We are so thankful that dogs in bandanas is a world record category.) Even more impressive, the dogs and their owners raised almost $100,000 for charity! NBD.
So what was this canine occasion? It was all part of animal charity RSPCA ACT’s annual Million Paws Walk, held in Australia’s capital city, Canberra. While 764 dogs don’t quite add up to a million paws (3,056 give or take), these furry friends were more than enough to beat the previous world record of 364 (still a lot of dogs in bandanas in one spot!), set less than one year ago by Golden Rescue in Canada. It sounds like the toughest part of this whole operation was counting up the pups, who obviously didn’t hold still for Guinness. In total it was 764, each one cuter than the next.
This guy is particularly adorable.
According to their site, RSPCA ACT’s mission is to “prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection,” which is, of course, awesome. We applaud you, RSPCA ACT! You, and all 764 of your best friends.
