She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Genre: Comedy
Rotten Tomatoes score: 88%

In She-Hulk, the latest addition to the MCU, Tatiana Maslany plays Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who gains Hulk powers from her cousin Bruce Banner. Unlike some of the other Marvel series, this one is a clever comedy that sees Jennifer addressing the viewer directly. It’s basically as if Ally McBeal were a Hulk, and we’re here for it. New episodes air weekly through Oct. 13th, 2022.

Ms. Marvel

Genre: Action
Rotten Tomatoes score: 97%

Ms. Marvel takes us back to the recent origin story of teenage superhero Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, a Pakistani-American girl from New Jersey. After Kamala finds herself with cosmic powers, she embarks on an epic adventure that leads her all the back into her family’s history. It’s a touching, fun, and action-packed series. Best of all, Ms. Marvel is set to return in next year’s big screen flick The Marvels.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Genre: Sci-Fi
Rotten Tomatoes score: 82%

Even if you’re not the world’s biggest Star Wars fan, you’ll appreciate the show Obi-Wan Kenobi, which revisits the Jedi character following the events of the prequel trilogy. Ewan McGregor is back as Obi-Wan, who is tasked with rescuing a kidnapped young Princess Leia. It’s full of Easter eggs for fans, but it’s also got the right amount of heart. You’ll root for young Leia, played by a feisty Vivien Lyra Blair.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls

Genre: Reality
Rotten Tomatoes score: N/A

Bear Grylls’ survival reality series has been airing since 2014, although its current incarnation, made by NatGeo, arrived in 2019. In each episode, the host invites a celebrity along for a wild adventure into nature. The most recent season kicked off in July and included appearances from Natalie Portman, Anthony Anderson, and Simu Liu. The best guest, however, was none other than Florence Pugh, who dove right in to the volcanic rainforests of Costa Rica alongside Grylls.

Mighty Ducks: Game Changers

Genre: Drama
Rotten Tomatoes score: 87%

There’s a sense of nostalgia to Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, a sports drama series that reboots the iconic 1992 film. The first season, starring Gilmore Girls’ Lauren Graham as a hockey coach, aired last year, with the second to come on Sept. 28, 2022. It’s not too late to get caught up in time for the next season, which is perfect for viewers of all ages. Don’t miss the cameo from Emilio Estevez, star of the original movie.

Genre: Spy
Rotten Tomatoes score: 86%

If Alias somehow passed you by when it aired on ABC, kick off a binge on Disney+ immediately. The spy series stars Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow, a double agent working for the CIA from within a criminal organization. It has a satisfying love story, tons of action, incredible wigs, and compelling secondary characters (including one played by a young Bradley Cooper).

Once Upon a Time

All of your favorite fairy tales get remixed and reimagined in Once Upon a Time, a series that originally aired on ABC. The entire epic story is now on Disney+ and it’s ideal for a long binge.
