6 Reasons We’re Psyched For ‘Horrible Bosses 2’
Lets play a little catch up: In 2011 we fell hard for Horrible Bosses. The film starred Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman and Charlie Day as employees with some less-than-perfect revenge plans for their nightmare bosses (played by Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey). Now, three whole years later, we are gearing up for Horrible Bosses 2, set for release on Thanksgiving weekend. Based on the first trailer for the movie, which came out this week, it looks pretty awesome. Here are 6 reasons we’re really excited to see the sequel:
1. Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz
For the sequel, the ever so attractive Chris Pine and two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz have been added to the cast, their roles are unknown to the public, but there is no doubt that Pine will be smoldering hot—I mean like red, hot sexy—and Waltz will be deliciously evil.
2. The Return of Horrible Boss, Jennifer Aniston
Who would have thought that America’s sweetheart, with her signature honey-colored locks, would be rocking it as a raunchy brunette? Horrible Bosses was certainly a departure from Jennifer Aniston’s clean-cut, romantic, innocent film and television roles, as was letting go of her famous Rachel Green-colored hair. Her raunchy and salacious role as Julia—the perverted, sex maniac, dentist—was possibly the highlight of the first movie, maybe on par with Colin Farrell’s bald cap and beer belly. We can’t wait to see what she’ll do this time around.
3. The Gang is Back
In the last movie, Jason, Jason, and Charlie were, well, kind of a dream team! Sudeikis and Day have gone on to star in Going The Distance and a couple of episodes of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia together. And you know you love seeing squeaky-clean Michael Bluth plotting murder and being just a deplorable human being. Together these three guys can make even the darkest scenarios seem hilarious.
4. Your Secret Crushes
I am majorly crushing on Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, and I know I’m not alone. Some may say “damn that SNL guy is with Olivia Wilde?!” HEY! He is a treasure of an actor! And Charlie Day, that little leprechaun of a comedian? I want to put him in my pocket and continue to be in love with him.
5. Jamie Foxx and Kevin Spacey
I always have so much respect for an Oscar winner who doesn’t stick to serious roles. Kevin Spacey has two Oscars (for The Usual Suspects and American Beauty) and Jamie Foxx has one (for Ray, and another nomination that year for Collateral). It’s cool to see real deal actors actually having fun and taking on lighter roles, despite their trophy closet of awards.
6. The Writing Team
Did you know that the first Horrible Bosses was written by John Francis Daley? Who is John Francis Daley you may ask. . .
He’s little Sam Weir from Freaks and Geeks! Since being the leader of the geek pack, Daley has written Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2, and the story for Horrible Bosses 2. The sequel also features a new addition. Cue the entrance of writer/director Sean Anders. Anders wrote the HILAROUS comedy, We’re The Millers, so the man is no stranger to working with Sudeikis and Aniston. It’s all the ingredients for comedy gold and I can’t wait to see the final results on the big screen!
