5 easy workout moves to exercise off your holiday feast
You tried your hardest not to over indulge, but you just couldn’t help yourself. How do we know, you ask? Because we also couldn’t resist getting that extra helping of sweet potato pie yesterday. But, don’t fret! We’ve already been thinking of a post-Thanksgiving workout that we can do to shave off that turkey.
It seems as though we never have enough time in the day to accomplish everything, so fitting in a workout can feel almost impossible. All of the running around that comes along with the holiday season makes it that much harder to keep up with our fitness routines.
Put those gym membership desires to rest, and do these five easy workout moves at home instead.
1. Going for a run
This full body workout is a sure fire way to cut off those extra calories. It’s great for your mental and physical health, and will even help you to burn calories post-working out too. You can’t ask for much more than that.
2. Jumping rope
Not only can you find a jump rope for under $20, jumping rope also strengthens the upper and lower body while allowing you to burn a ton of calories in no time. Just 15 minutes of jumping rope is said to be equivalent to jogging a ten minute mile! Perfect for all of us who don’t exactly like getting out there to run.
3. Squats
Deemed the LBD of workouts by Women’s Health, squats are perfect for toning your body in all the right places. And since there are so many variations to choose from, your routine will never be boring.
4. Pushups
Pushups are an efficient workout that you should add to your fitness routine if you wish to target more than one body part at a time. The exercise targets your arms, chest and core, and can totally help you shave off a ton of those pesky calories.
5. Jumping jacks
We’ve been doing them since grade school, and for good reason. This strengthening and stress-relieving exercise is perfect if you wish to get in an easy full body workout — no equipment necessary.
So get up and get moving!
