5 Actors Who Should Guest Star On ‘The Simpsons’

I love The Simpsons and I always have and I always will. I’ve always identified as a combo of Bart and Lisa and love doing the Marge disapproving groan and duh, Ralph Wiggum makes me laugh…always.

But one of the most exciting parts for me, as a kid, was recognizing voices in Springfield (now I’m aware when they advertise big name guest stars but as a kid they either didn’t do it or I just didn’t know). There’s an amazing crossover episode with The X-Files which felt tailor-made to me and when I heard Sara Gilbert’s voice as a teen Bart’s in love with, I was floored. Some huge stars have done guest voices over the years like Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman and of course, famously, Michael Jackson as a mental hospital patient Homer encounters who says he’s Michael Jackson but looks nothing like him.

The newest episode of The Simpsons featured Judd Apatow (whose shows and movies I’ve loved forever) living out what I can only assume is a dream of his of being Simpson-ized.

There’ve already been so many celebrity guest stars on The Simpsons over the years it’s hard to think of people who haven’t voiced a resident or visitor to Springfield. But that’s why I’m here! Here are some people I’m DESPERATE to be on The Simpsons and why!

James Van Der Beek

Okay, my big pitch for this is “Joshua Jackson did it!” Also, James’s turn on Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 proved he has a sense of humor about himself so I’d love to see him just play himself. Or bring Joshua Jackson’s environmentalist character back and have James Van Der Beek play his best friend! That’s fine, too!

Betty White

BETTY WHITE, GUYS! How has she not been on The Simpsons? It’s actually insane! She’s been around for so long and is so great and she needs to be on this show. I think she should play a woman at the Springfield Retirement Castle. A feisty broad who used to be in show business perhaps. She can break Grandpa’s heart just like everyone else does.

Note: Yes, she’s been on the show, but playing herself. I’d want her to be a character or something. How awesome would that be?!

Leonardo DiCaprio & Kate Winslet

Basically, I want Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet to do everything together and always be on red carpets together and always talk to each other at awards shows and just live together in a reality show I can watch. (Did I take it too far?) Also, they should let me live with them. (Okay, NOW I did.) They can play a married couple who moves in next door (that hasn’t happened in a while, right?) and I can just be in love with them from my TV screen.

Kerry Washington

Not to be all People Magazine but Kerry Washington is SO HOT right now. I’m obsessed with Scandal and Kerry Washington is a huge part of my obsession, obviously. Kerry should come on The Simpsons AS Olivia Pope though, obviously. And do some fixin’ things montages for Mr. Burns or Springfield as a whole.
