Here’s what you get with a $45,000 Thanksgiving dinner
Between all the homemade dishes and the time spent with family, Thanksgiving can seem like a pretty down-to-earth holiday, but one New York City steakhouse is changing that. This year, for just $45,000, you and your significant other can enjoy the Thanksgiving dinner of your dreams.
After launching a $35,000 Thanksgiving dinner last year, the Old Homestead Steakhouse in New York City’s Financial District is offering an updated all-expenses paid Thanksgiving meal that the restaurant believes to be the perfect set up for popping the question on Turkey Day.
Guests will not only enjoy a unforgettable, seven-course spread of all the usual Thanksgiving fixings, but a generous helping of $1,600/oz. caviar and a $4,900 bottle of bourbon to boot. The meal will also come with—and this is the reason for the $10,000 price bump—a two-carat diamond ring (not in the turkey, we hope) so that diners can propose to their loved one before surprising them with two tickets to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, limousine service, a two-night stay at the swanky Waldorf Astoria hotel, and $7,500 for a Black Friday shopping spree at Bergdorf Goodman.
“Thanksgiving weekend kicks off the proposal season that runs until Valentine’s Day,” Old Homestead owner Marc Sherry told ABC News. “Anyone can get engaged on Valentine’s Day, but not many can do it with turkey and stuffing.”
We guess that’s true. So far, Mr. Sherry has at least two people who are seriously looking into signing up for the world’s most romantic Thanksgiving dinner.
