People are making the ‘Westworld’ maze with 3D printers and they’re pretty amazing
There’s dedication, and then there’s next-level dedication. Some fans of the binge-worthy HBO sci-fi drama have been taking their addiction to new heights by 3D printing the iconic Westworld maze. Without giving too much away, here’s the deal with Westworld. The show takes place in the unspecified future (although if you look closely enough, you can figure out the timelines), at a park for the incredibly wealthy (we recently figured out how much it costs per day and… wow). The park was designed to resemble an old-timey Western town, complete with robots acting out storylines.
As Ed Harris’s character figured out, it’s also some kind of maze — and he’s trying to get to the centre. (Ahem, there’s a slightly creepier significance to the Westworld maze as well, which makes it the subject of all kinds of fan theories.)
We’ll stop there to avoid giving away too many spoilers — but if you haven’t started watching yet, may we suggest adding Westworld to your holiday binge list?

Yes, those are all 3D printed recreations of the Westworld map, and yes, we really, really want one. (Psst — smartphone-enabled 3D printer for Christmas, anyone?) All of these versions are super slick and would make great keepsakes for that Westworld super fan in your life.
We have to wonder if 3D printing is the way of the future when it comes to fan art. 3D printers are quickly becoming more accessible, both in terms of price and ease of use.
