Three million people have early watched an 18-second video of a cyst being popped. Instead of going to doctor or a dermatologist (like YouTube sensation Dr. Sandra Lee), her friends give her Fireball whiskey straight from the bottle to prepare her for her surgery. It’s not surprising that this latest pimple popping video is so popular. Whether it’s cysts, whiteheads, or blackheads, people enjoy watching watching these pops. We have no idea why though.

It’s so gross but it’s hard to look away.

Dr. Sandra Lee is a dermatologist living in California who is quite popular on Facebook for sharing graphic videos of zits being squeezed and actual surgeries, too. It’s not just that people enjoy watching gross videos on the internet. People also finds these videos to be relaxing.

Also, Lee believes that “popping” videos may help to relieve dermatillomania, a skin picking disorder, a form of obsessive compulsive disorder. “I do know that it helps some of my viewers cope with their dermatillomania,” she said. “I have a few patients with this condition, and when I see one again, I plan to suggest that they watch my videos and let me know if it helps them cope.”
