The Easiest DIY Holiday Decorations For Your Home This Month
When it comes to holiday decorations, we firmly believe that MORE IS MORE! We can’t get enough of twinkly lights, a megadose of glitter, and gorgeous garland. But whether you’re like us or prefer a subtler take on the holidays, these three easy DIY holiday decorations are just the ticket. And they’re easy enough to do in just a couple of hours over a weekend. Find all the materials you need below for these DIY projects!
Glitter Candles
You will need:
- Pillar Candles
- Scotch Tape
- Glue
- Glitter
Step 1. Tape off sections of your candle.
Step 2. Glue in between sections one by one.
Step 3. Glitter each section immediately after glueing and shake off excess.
Step 4. Allow glue and glitter to dry completely before peeling off your tape.
Step 5. Touch up any areas that need additional glitter.
Ornament Garland
For a 2 1/2′ garland You will need:
- 4′ medium-width ribbon
- 40-60 Ornaments
- Scotch tape
Step 1. Create a knot about 12″ from the end of your ribbon.
Step 2. Tape off the other end of your ribbon to make it easier to string.
Step 3. String ornaments onto your ribbon until you’re happy with the fullness and length of the garland.
Step 4. Tie off the end of your garland and display!
Animal Ornaments
You will need:
- Assorted plastic animals
- A lighter or matches
- A pin
- Screw hooks
- Paint
- Glitter
- Glue
- Ribbon
Step 1. Paint animals (you may need several coats).
Step 2. Add glitter as desired.
Step 3. Once your animals are dry, carefully heat the end of your pin with the lighter or matches
Step 4. Use the pin to make a small hole in the top of the animals.
Step 5. Screw your small hook into the hole.
Step 6. Add a ribbon and hang!
