Tis the season! Freeform’s schedule for the 25 Days of Christmas is here!
It may only be October, but it’s pretty much already the most wonderful time of the year since Freeform released its 25 Days of Christmas schedule. From Dec. 1 until Dec. 25, Freeform has got you covered for movies to watch while you’re decorating, baking Christmas cookies, and wrapping presents. Joy to the world, the ultimate holiday TV-watching schedule has come!
While the network has tried to mix it up by adding some non-traditional fare (what are you doing here, Just Friends??), for the most part, the featured movies are the Christmas classics you have come to know and love.
Now, I won’t lie and say that every film you’ll want to watch during the holiday season is part of the schedule due to pesky distribution rights. Personally, I require viewings of It’s a Wonderful Life and Love Actually every year. But with the programming starting at 7 a.m. for 25 days, I have faith that you’ll be tuning into at least one of the movies on Freeform during the month of December. Here’s just a glimpse at some of the schedule, and the full schedule can be found here if you’re trying to plan out your viewing right this very second.
Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town
It’s pretty much a requirement to watch at least one of those classic stop motion animated Christmas specials and my personal favorite is Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town. Is it inappropriate for me to think that the young, ginger Kris Kringle is cute? Probably, but you can decide for yourself when it airs on Dec. 4 at 4:30 p.m. and 10:55 p.m., Dec. 20 at 4:30 p.m., Dec. 21 at 1:10 p.m., Dec. 23 at 4:35 p.m., Dec. 24 at 11:15 a.m., and Dec. 25 at 3:30 p.m.
Elf
Just like last year (when Freeform was ABC Family), the network will show Elf a whopping 12 times — but I’m not mad about it. How could I be? Smiling’s my favorite! You can see Will Ferrell’s Buddy the Elf on Dec. 3 at 8:50 p.m., Dec. 4 at 6:40 p.m., Dec. 7 at 9 p.m., Dec. 8 at 7 p.m., Dec. 12 at 9 p.m., Dec. 13 at 7 p.m., Dec. 18 at 9:50 p.m., Dec. 19 at 6:50 p.m., Dec. 21 at 8:55 p.m., Dec. 22 at 6:45 p.m., Dec. 24 at 7:40 p.m., and Dec. 25 at 5:40 p.m.
The Santa Clause
Another movie that’s very close to channeling the song “The 12 Days of Christmas” with 11 airings is The Santa Clause. Toy Story Marathon
Didn’t get your Tim Allen fill? Then Toy Story is here for you. Although this Disney franchise doesn’t scream Christmas, it is about toys. So watch Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, and even the short film Toy Story That Time Forgot on Dec. 10, starting at 3:45 p.m., and again on Dec. 11, starting at 2:50 p.m., for hours upon hours of Pixar joy.
Scrooged
As a reasonable human, I’m in love with Bill Murray. And Freeform wants you to start and end your 25 days of Christmas with his take on A Christmas Carol — Scrooged — on Dec. 5 at 9 p.m., Dec. 6 at 5 p.m., Dec. 24 at 11:55 p.m., and Dec. 25 at 9:55 p.m.
