Get ready, because 24/7 McDonald’s breakfast might be coming

McDonald’s 10:30am cutoff for breakfast always seemed particularly cruel to us breakfast lovers who would love nothing more than an Egg McMuffin and some hashbrowns for dinner or a midnight snack. With chains like Denny’s and Jack in the Box offering all-day breakfast menus, it always seemed uncharacteristic of Mickey D’s to not get with the program.

But according to Business Insider, one of the major obstacles holding the restaurant back from offering McMuffins galore is the size of their grills —they just aren’t big enough to handle the entire menu at once.

“It comes down to the sheer size of kitchen grills. They simply don’t have the room for all of our menu options at one time — especially considering we use our grill to prepare many items on our breakfast menu,” A McDonalds representative stated.

WELL, times they are a changin’. Maybe. Starting next month, the fast food chain will be experimenting with a 24-hour breakfast menu. That’s right —hotcakes, egg biscuit sandwiches, and McGriddles whenever you want.

But unfortunately, not wherever you want. The 24-hour menu will only be available at a few locations in San Diego, California, so the fate of the McMuffin will rely entirely on those restaurants. We know you can make the right decision, San Diego!

If enough breakfast items are ordered throughout the day, prepare for McBreakfast all day, every day.
