21 tweets about Obama leaving that sum up exactly how much we’re going to miss him
We are going to miss President Obama. Like, a lot. Like, so much we may have shed more than a couple tears while watching Obama’s farewell address. And unsurprisingly, we’re not the only ones who are going to miss his progressive legislation, powerful speeches, elegant demeanor, dad jokes, and his frequently memed friendship with Vice President Joe Biden.
The past 8 years have been filled with highs and lows, as with any president’s administration. However, the one thing that has remained constant is that we’ve had a president who receives so much joy from leading our nation, and does so with dignity, integrity, and class. There are so many ways in which Barack Obama has left a lasting impact on our nation — here are just a few of the ways in which we’ll miss him.
We’ll miss him being a family man:

8 years. No scandals. No mistresses. No impeachment hearings. Just class and grace personified. I think we'll all miss the #Obama family pic.twitter.com/zLxBaFUzvz

For showing that you don’t have to be hyper-masculine to be powerful:
i love barack obama. i love joe biden. and i am going to deeply miss seeing sensitive, powerful men who aren't afraid to be vulnerable.

Something I haven't seen said: Obama and Biden provided a great model of masculine friendship. Too few men have deep friendships.

I love the example of masculine strength, love, and fellowship that Obama/Biden set. Strong men that own their range of feelings. <3

Accepting the transition from President Barack Obama to civilian Barack Obama is proving to be a hard feat for many of us. His presidency isn’t even officially over yet, and we all have the ~*feels*~ about missing the wonderful Obama family. Like, who knows how long it’ll be before we see another Commander in Chief so in love with his wife, his children, and his country? Combine that with his stunning skills as an orator, his modern viewpoints, and his wicked skills on the basketball court, and we’ve got a total package.
Political opinions will likely always be needlessly divisive, but one thing is for sure: Barack Obama will be missed by many. He was the president who made us believe that yes, we totally can. So when it comes to whether or not we’ll miss him, the answer is “yes, we will.”
