This is not a drill! Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg will co-host the 2019 Golden Globes

In iconic duos you never knew you needed news: Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg are set to co-host the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 6th on NBC. As many will recall, the duo presented the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series award at the 2018 Emmys—where Oh hilariously referenced the infamous La La Land Oscars mix-up that occurred in 2017. Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of NBC Entertainment, said of the decision:

“Sandra and Andy are the perfect choices to host this world-class event. They bring wit, charm and style to a room filled with the very best of film and television. It’s sure to be another unforgettable fun-filled night.

The announcement comes at the heels of news that comedian Kevin Hart will be hosting the 2019 Oscars, which airs the following month on Sunday, February 24th.

Oh currently stars in BBC America’s breakout hit Killing Eve, which garnered her a historic 2018 Emmy nomination back in September. The Grey’s Anatomy alum became the first Asian actress to land a nomination as a lead in the drama series category. Conversely, Samberg will be returning to his NBC roots for the award show; the Saturday Night Live alum currently stars in cult-favorite series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which NBC scooped up after a Fox cancellation.

Meher Tatna, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, added of the pairing: “We’re excited to welcome Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg as co-hosts of Hollywood’s Party of the Year. Both Golden Globe Award recipients have continually showcased their talents in film and television, and we can’t wait see what their undeniable chemistry will bring to the Golden Globes stage.”

The 2019 Golden Globes cannot come soon enough. Tune into our faves hosting the 76th Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 6th on NBC at 5 p.m. PST.
