Gwendoline Christie looks like Jesus on the Emmys red carpet and Twitter feels SAVED

Some of the biggest names in Hollywood have arrived at the 2019 Emmys, and so far, the fashion is on point. But just like every year, there’s always one person that completely owns the red carpet—and this year, that honor goes to Games of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, who blessed us with the most memorable look of the night.

The actress arrived at the 2019 Emmys red carpet dressed in what can only be described as a Jesus-inspired red-white-and-gold Gucci gown that was regal, powerful, and further proved that she knows exactly how to slay on and off screen. The look was also wildly appropriate given the fact that Christie submitted herself in the 2019 Emmys race after HBO didn’t enter her. She will compete for her first nomination for her role as Brienne of Tarth on the final season of Game of Thrones.

Christie would not have been nominated had she not submitted herself in the category for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series alongside costars Sophie Turner, Lena Headey, and Maisie Williams.

“It’s something I find hard to do, like everyone else, but I would like to be in charge of my own destiny, Christie told The Los Angeles Times last month. “And I would like to endeavor to give myself opportunities. Particularly when working very hard on something very special and you’ve pushed yourself beyond your limits."

So Christie literally took “charge of her own destiny” by nominating herself and then showed up at Emmys looking like Jesus…

As expected, Twitter is living for Christie’s Jesus-inspired look.

In short, Gwendoline Christie is proof that God is a woman.
