Some things you should know about Taylor Swift’s ‘1989 World Tour Live’ film

Attention all Swifties: you have something super exciting to look forward to over the next six days!

On her 26th birthday (December 13th), Taylor Swift tweeted that she had a “little surprise” for her fans. Attached to this proclamation was a video – a trailer, to be exact – announcing that the 1989 World Tour LIVE Concert Film will be released on December 20th. Okay, so maybe that surprise isn’t so little and is instead just awesome/the greatest holiday present ever gifted. Especially for those who weren’t able to make it to one of her live shows.

This T-Swift snapshot perfectly expresses how we feel right now:

“Getting ready for this I wondered about a lot of things,” Swift states in the trailer. “I wondered what it would be like to perform for 70,000 people. I wondered what it would look like if they were all lit up and just dancing around like no one was watching them. I wondered what would happen if I invited the most amazing artists in the world to come out with me and perform on my stage – would they do it? This is the 1989 world tour.”

The film is directed by Jonas Akerlund (who’s worked with Lady Gaga, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, and several other music mavens) and will be released exclusively by Apple Music. Here’s what fans have to look forward to: Swift’s entire, November 28th concert at Sydney, Australia’s ANZ Stadium; top-secret footage from backstage; tour rehearsals; and the special guests who joined the singer onstage during her tour. Based on what the trailer reveals, you can look forward to seeing Mick Jagger, Selena Gomez, Alanis Morissette, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, and Justin Timberlake.
