Jennifer Lawrence taught Javier Bardem how to keep up with the Kardashians

It turns out that not everyone knows about reality television. Because Jennifer Lawrence had to teach Javier Bardem about Keeping Up With the Kardashians while they were filming their new movie mother!, directed by Darren Aronofsky. (Who is now JLaw’s boyfriend, btw.)  Although sometimes it seems like it’s hard to miss news of Kylie Jenner’s latest lip kit or Kim Kardashian’s latest magazine cover, Bardem was blissfully ignorant…until Lawrence stepped up to the plate.

In a recent interview, Bardem told MTV News that he had never heard of the Kardashians before.

"She told me once about the Kardashians. Now I know more about who they are, but at the time, I didn't know who they were,"  he said.

Luckily, Lawrence was there to help.

"She was laughing at me so hard, You don't know who the Kardashians are? Like she was talking to me about Einstein," Bardem said. "'No, I don't know who those people are. Who are them? What's their planet? Where are they coming from? What do they want? Where is the spaceship?'"

Jennifer Lawrence has talked about her love for the Kardashians before.

Filming mother! got pretty dark at times, and Lawrence kept her spirits up with her favorite reality TV family, she told Vogue in August.

“It was a tent that had pictures of the Kardashians and Keeping Up with the Kardashians playing on a loop — and gumballs, she said. "My happy place."

We’re glad Lawrence had reality television to cheer her up. And we’re glad that Javier Bardem has learned just a little bit more about pop culture.
