15 tweets that sum up how the iPhone “i” glitch is ruining our lives

Every time there’s an iPhone update, the phone is supposed to get even more impressive. But occasionally there are hiccups, and iPhone users are reporting a glitch after updating to iOS 11.1. It’s a problem specifically with the keyboard that autocorrects the uppercase “i” to a question mark and letter ‘A’ in a box.

Yep, totally annoying.

Apparently, Apple said this would be fixed shortly in the next update, and there are a few work around hacks, but most iPhone users are extremely frustrated with the current situation.

Because you know, the letter “i” is kind of important when it comes to basic communication. If the glitch was with “z” or “x” it would potentially be more tolerable. Oh, technology. Can’t live with you, can’t live without you.

And, as you probably expected, Twitter has thoughts.

If you were affected by this irritating glitch, don’t worry too much. Most people can temporarily work around the bug by going into Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement. Once there, you can add a new “rule,” and type an uppercase “I” in Phrase and then a lower case “i” in the Shortcut field (this, however, won’t be helpful if you have an uppercase “i” in a password).

In the mean time, we’ll just be playing with all our new emojis. Because at least there’s that.
