These are the new characters you’ll see in “13 Reasons Why” Season 2

Production for Season 2 of Netflix hit 13 Reasons Why is heating up as seven cast members have been added to the series. While there’s no sequel to the Jay Asher book of the same name, the first season left *several* cliffhangers to be solved during a second season, leaving producers with no shortage of material to work with.

Tony winner Kelli O’Hara, Anne Winters, Bryce Cass, Chelsea Alden, Allison Miller, Samantha Logan, and Ben Lawson have all joined the series in recurring roles, ranging from Liberty High students and faculty to lawyers in the lawsuit between Hannah Baker’s parents and Liberty High School, which was heating up as the first season ended.

According to Variety, O’Hara (above, right) is set to play Jackie, “an advocate for victims of bullying.” With bullying being such a major topic on the series, we won’t be surprised if we see her testify as an expert in the Baker v Liberty High lawsuit, as well as talk to the many, many bullied characters in the series.

Miller will be playing Sonya, “a smart and ambitious young litigator,” while Lawson (above, middle) joins the cast as Rick, Liberty High’s “beloved baseball coach.” We know at least one baseball player guilty of many crimes — serial rapist Bryce — so we can’t help but hope that the addition of Miller and Lawson’s characters means he’s *finally* going to face the consequences of his actions.

Also joining the cast are a whole slew Liberty High School students. Cass will play Cyrus, “an edgy, cynical mischief maker who serves as an unexpected champion of the downtrodden,” while Alden will play Cyrus’ witty, artsy sister Mackenzie. Meanwhile Liberty High has a new head cheerleader in the form of Winter’s (above, left) popular girl Chloe, and a track star in Logan’s Nina.

In addition to following the lawsuit between the parents of Hannah Baker — who committed suicide during the first season of the series — and Liberty High School, the second season will also follow Hannah’s classmates as they recover from the various traumas they faced during the first season.

The second season of 13 Reasons Why will air on Netflix in 2018.
