10,000 glowing books poured onto the streets of Toronto and it was completely magical

Sometimes you just need something a little bit pretty to boost your mood. So we were PUMPED when we learned about Literature Vs Traffic, a stunning project that results in 10,000 books forming a thing of beauty. Based in Toronto, Literature Vs Traffic is seriously one of the most gorgeous displays we’ve seen all year. According to Bored Panda, the art installation is a part of Nuit Blanche 2016, an art festival that takes place over the course of one sleepless night. And it’s so, so magical.

According to Bored Panda, this project was created by Luzinterruptus, an anonymous group that carries out “urban interventions in public spaces.”

According to the project website, the artistic display hopes to shift the atmosphere of the city. It explains,

“Thus, a city area which is typically reserved for speed, pollution and noise, will become, for one night, a place for quietness, calm and coexistence illuminated by the vague, soft light coming out of the lighted pages.

It’s truly so stunning.

The site continues,

“The books will be there for those who want to take them so the installation will recycle itself and will last as long as users want it there.

Clearly it’s an absolutely amazing photo opportunity. How BEAUTIFUL is this?!

And we totally adore the fact that this project recycles itself.

Five stars from our earth-loving hearts!

We’re just so happy knowing that something this stunning, and this calming, exists.
