A century of German beauty in 90 seconds flat

Cut Video is continuing their trip around the world and through history, with their latest “100 Years of Beauty” video. And it’s predictably fabulous. This time they take us to Germany, with model Brooke Williams getting a decade-by-decade makeover in the manner of German style.

We start just after the turn of the century, moving into the new modern trends of the 1920s and 1930s.

Then it’s on to the 1940s, and the war.

From there, this video gets really interesting. While we’ve seen Russia and the U.S. during the Cold War and Iran after the 1979 Revolution, this video is more like Korea, in that it’s divided from the 1950s through the 1980s. We get to see German fashion on both sides of the Berlin Wall side-by-side, and the slight differences are incredible.

But with the fall of the Berlin Wall in the early 1990s, things come back together for the final few decades of the century.

As always, this video is beyond gorgeous and beyond fascinating. It’s so amazing to see the ways fashion and standards of beauty can change in just a 10-year period, and having that accelerated across a century is the absolute coolest. We cannot wait to see where Cut Video takes us next!
