This 10-year-old prodigy is putting all our math skills to shame

College ladies, if you need inspiration to study for midterms, 10-year-old Esther Okade is the answer. Why? Because she’s working towards her college degree. ALREADY.

According to The Telegraph, this unbelievably intelligent little sunflower lives in Walsall, England, and is one of the UK’s youngest university students.

“From the age of seven, Esther has wanted to go to university,” Omonefe (Efe), Esther’s mother, told the Telegraph. “But I was afraid it was too soon . .  .Finally, after three years, she told me, ‘Mum, I think it is about time I started university now.”

Talk about motivation. And on top of that, Esther and her younger brother, Isaiah, have never even been in school — they’ve been homeschooled their whole lives by their mom who is (luckily) a mathematician,

Esther’s parents have understood her true potential for years. “Esther is a very fast learner,” Efe told the Birmingham Mail. “By the time she was four, I had taught her the alphabet, her numbers, and how to add, subtract, multiply and division. I saw that she loved patterns so developed a way of using that to teach her new things . . . But she is a normal little girl — she loves Barbie and princesses and making loom bands.”

Because of her age, the college application process wasn’t exactly easy. Efe told Metro: “We even had to talk to the Vice Chancellor. After they interviewed her, they realized that this had been her idea from the very beginning.”

Esther also enjoys teaching her little brother. “Isaiah is following in his sister’s footsteps,” Efe continued. “He is doing calculus and advanced algebra. Even when he was in my tummy, Esther was already teaching him.”

Oh, and Esther’s totally ROCKING university, by the way — she enrolled three weeks ago, and in that short amount of time, she’s already top of the class after scoring 100% on a recent test. Esther’s plan is to get a Ph.D., own her own bank, and become a millionaire . . . and we have absolutely no doubt that she will reach her goals in no time.

“Every child is a genius,” said Efe. “It is all just finding out the best way for each child to learn.” Rock on Esther!
