There’s already a “10 Cloverfield Lane”/”Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” mashup, because internet
When the trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane broke, I put that trailer on repeat. (And not just because of the apropos choice of music.) What was happening? Oh, how I love a good mystery!
Well, it seems that Glen Tickle also enjoyed the 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer, remixing it to the tune of the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt theme song. As he explained: “The two seemed to fit together naturally because the 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer appears to show Mary Elizabeth Winstead trying to escape from an underground bunker, and Kimmy Schmidt is about a woman who escapes a bunker.”
Pretty fun stuff! (I can’t believe I didn’t think of it first!) Though I find it interesting that in the last year or so several different movies and/or TV shows have been released involving women locked up in bunkers: The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Room, Take Shelter, the little-seen but still awesome Stockholm, Pennsylvaniaand now 10 Cloverfield Lane. Is there something in the water? The internet agrees:
Despite the giggles elicited from the mashup, I suspect 10 Cloverfield Lane will replace all laughs with screams. And I can’t wait.
