10 Awesome Movies You Can Now Stream On Netflix
To everyone who is bummed that Netflix removed more than 70 streaming titles on July 1, have no fear, 50 plus movies were added in their place. While I will miss Spaceballs, Girl, Interrupted and Night of the Living Dead, I will have a hard time choosing between all of the new options available to stream. Does anyone else spend half of movie night picking the movie? [Editor’s Note: Yes]
Just to help make your decision-making a little easier, here are the 10 new Netflix streaming movies I’m most stoked about:
1) Funny Face
Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire, classic. And the pink number is a childhood favorite of mine!
2) The Parent Trap
Little LiLo rocks it. . . twice! P.S. This was also the movie that made me try Oreos with peanut butter, and for that I will be forever grateful.
3) Can’t Buy Me Love
Teen Patrick Dempsey spends his life savings to date the star cheerleader in an ’80s high school comedy. Sold.
4) My Girl AND My Girl 2
Amazing coming-of-age story that made me cry and buy a mood ring.
5) Philadelphia
This significant 1993 film follows Philadelphia attorney Andrew Beckett (Tom Hanks) after he files a wrongful termination suit for being fired because he is an HIV positive, gay man. This role won Hanks his first Oscar, which he accepted with a beautiful speech.
6) Bad Santa
Bad Billy Bob Thornton + Naughty Lauren Graham = A Raunchy Win
7) Legends of the Fall
Young Brad Pitt (yes!) in a melodramatic, WWI era film about brotherhood. Plus, he fights a bear.
8) Mean Girls
I feel like Mean Girls has one of those on-again, off-again relationships with Netflix. Instead of playing will they or won’t they, watch this fabulous movie while it’s streaming.
9) The Karate Kid trilogy
Sweep the leg. Wax on, Wax off. The stuff movie nostalgia is made of.
10) Gandhi
This movie is 191 minutes long, but worth it. I have seen it twice. Which is 382 minutes of viewing and I still endorse it. Ben Kingsley won an Oscar for his portrayal of Gandhi in this momentous bio-pic.
