10 Animated Movie Sidekicks Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Offs
Even if you haven’t seen Despicable Me, chances are you know what a minion is. You know, the tiny, yellow, mischievously hilarious sidekicks who overshadowed every other character in the movie? Because minions are super lovable and deserve every ounce of attention they get, they’ve just landed their own movie—The Minions, scheduled for a 2015 release. Now that that’s settled, let’s take a look at some other show-stealing animated sidekicks who totally deserve their own movies. Shall we?
1. Olaf – Frozen
Olaf’s absent-mindedness is what makes him so funny and lovable. He represents the innocence in Anna, Elsa and all of us.
2. Boo – Monsters, Inc.
The most adorable Disney character ever award goes to Boo. I’d love to see a spinoff just based on her pure and raw cuteness, and her willingness to hang out with gigantic monsters.
3. Sebastian – The Little Mermaid
Everyone needs a level-headed friend, specifically one who is willing to risk his tail for your happiness.
4. Thumper – Bambi
Thumper takes Bambi under his wing and teaches him everything he knows about the forest and stiff ice. He’s the Oprah of cartoon animals.
5. Tinker Bell – Peter Pan
There’s no question that Tink steals the show in Peter Pan, but I’d love to see a spinoff where she overcomes her body image and jealousy issues.

6. Chip Potts – Beauty and the Beast
The cutest teacup ever to exist. There’s a lot of tension in the Beast’s castle, so little Chip really helps lighten the mood a bit.
7. Dory – Finding Nemo
Dory might slow Nemo down from finding his son, but she provides the love and support he needs on the journey. And she speaks whale, so that helps too.

8. Jiminy Cricket – Pinocchio
Sometimes, when we lack an understanding of what’s right and wrong, we need a friend to help us figure it out. Like Jiminy Cricket. So, think twice before you freak out about a cricket. You never know. . .
9. Mr. Potato Head – Toy Story
He doesn’t always believe in Woody, and he’s pretty moody and sarcastic—but his face always falls off. If my face always fell off, I’d be pretty moody too.
10. Timon and Pumbaa – Lion King
The comedy duo of all comedy duos. Timon and Pumbaa recognize that Simba is a good investment, so they basically adopt him. And and in return, he doesn’t eat them.
