Yesterday was International Women’s Day, and like its title suggests, it was celebrated around the world! I must admit, I was pretty excited about Women’s Day. I’ve never had a Google Doodle apply directly to me before! Besides reading some great Women’s Day tweets here, I spent yesterday listening to some great music made by, you guessed it, women!
In an effort to keep the celebration of women going, I picked twelve of my favorite female artists to make this week’s Playlist of the Week!
I Don’t Want to Be a Bride- Vanessa Carlton
Master of Art- Laura Stevenson and the Can
Fairytale- Sara Bareilles
All I Want- Kate Earl
Fidelity- Regina Spektor
Mouthwash- Kate Nash
Are You Satisfied?- Marina and The Diamonds
Rolling In The Deep- Adele
So What- P!nk
Lost And Found- Katie Herzig
Masochist- Ingrid Michaelson
Diet Mountain Dew- Lana Del Rey
Obviously there are tons of amazing female artists and this list barely scratches the surface, so feel free to share your favorite women in music in the comments below!

Some fav women in music while not thinking the present is the best time for music ever LOL: Chrissie Hynde, Kim Deal, all of Sleater-Kinney, PJ Harvey, Liz Phair, Aretha Franklin, Cat Power, Lucinda Williams, Aimee Mann, and Shirley Manson. Beats your list!
Love that Katie Herzig is included in this list! Ella Mae Bowen and Joy Williams would make great additions to this list.
Cool thanks!
You missed out Gwen! Great list tho
