Show Me The FunnyWeird Al's ‘Exclusive' InterviewsBridget Carroll

“Weird Al” Yankovic has been a huge comedic presence in my life since I was a tiny tot. His parody songs and more importantly, his expertly executed videos that accompany said songs, are known the world over. But some of you may not be as familiar with his sketches and other bits he does for live shows or when he used to take over MTV – turning it into ALTV. My favorites were always the “exclusive” celebrity interviews Al would cobble together with whoever he could get his hands on. Here are a few of my faves:

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake:

I don’t know what I love about this more, the ridiculous interview or Britney Spears just being her goofy self circa 2003. And the Justin Timberlake cameo – priceless.

Bruce Springsteen

This is classic Weird Al and a mid-’80s Bruce Springsteen. Truly Vintage Yankovic here, folks. Enjoy, especially the counting.

Paul McCartney

Okay, this isn’t a typical Weird Al interview, but might be my favorite one of all time. Al clearly knows how to take advantage of being in the right place at the right time. That deviant face and that voice crack me up every time.

Hopefully he’ll do some more interviews soon with some current artists. I would love to see him take on Ke$ha. And if you have eleven minutes to spare, you should probably check out his R. Kelly spoof “Trapped in the Drive-Thru.”

  1. I loved this one so much! I am a huge Weird Al fan and thought I had seen all the interviews … but I hadn’t seen the last one. PRICELESS.
