Last week, I was fortunate enough to attend my first ever fashion week in NYC. It was incredible, inspiring and lots of fun! To me, the best part of fashion week is learning what trends will stick around for the following year and what new trends will emerge. It just so happens that 3 of my favorite designers had similar looks to watch out for in 2013.
JCrew – JCrew S/S 2013 gives us menswear inspiration, pretty pastels, bright greens, a fabulous mixing of prints and overall fun, chic looks. Mixing prints is a big trend right now, but I’m looking forward to next spring and summer when it will be all about softer and bright colors. Umm, how fierce is the all white suit??!!

Clover Canyon – Clover Canyon is a LA-based designer who I recently discovered and instantly fell in love with. Clover Canyon S/S 2013 gives us menswear, extremely bold prints and the mixing unexpected patterns and prints. I’m loving the spin on the traditional pants suit by replacing the pants with shorts…so fun!

Nanette Lepore – With Nanette Lepore S/S 2013, we stay on track with menswear and mixing prints but also add a huge emphasis on rich green hues. Lepore used a print not seen in any other line – gingham – combining the strong look of black & white gingham and stripes with the more feminine looks of floral and paisley. I need the second look below, right this minute.

Now, are you loving these trends? Below are 13 pieces to get you ready for S/S 2013. Have fun with color and pattern and embrace your masculine side!

meh…runway trends don’t always translate well into the real world…I wear what I like and what I think looks the best regardless of the trends.
totally valid point but i think you can definitely take aspects of the trend and incorporate it into the real world. that’s what i tried to do with the shopping list collage i made. all wearable pieces if you want to try something new. thanks for your comment! xo
Wow…SO 80′s. I think these girls look great, but I am not sure I can get over growing up in the 80′s to wear things like Clover Canyon’s oversized blazers and prints straight from my mom’s closet in 1982. haha
lol touche!
The funny thing is that my mom said the same thing to me when I was in high school, wearing the 60′s/70′s fashion. LOL It’s all so cyclical.
