Tickled PinkGrasie Mercedes

When I was a child, I had a pink room. Pink walls, pink pillows and sheets and a big pink area rug. Needless to say, by the time I hit puberty, I was sick of pink! But as of late, I have rediscovered the color and fallen in love again. I need to bring some pink back into my life. It’s so pretty and delicate… I’m into it.

I’ve also recently got into Pinterest. I’m obsessed! Just a site full of beautiful photos. Oh my. It’s a great place for inspiration and I love it. I found all these photos on there.

How do you feel about pink? Some ladies think it’s too “girly” but that’s what I like about it.

What about pink decor? Yay or Nay?

Sound off, my Gigglers…let’s start the pink conversation :)

  1. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay I love pink it kisses my brain (if that makes sense ;))

  2. I hated pink as a child which was devastating to my mother as I am the only girl, I have three brothers. My bedspread as a child was a navy Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Now I have 2 boys and a 17 month old girl. Who thankfully loves pink. She loves dresses and hair clips and her nursery is cream, pink and green. I feel so sorry for my mum. And amazingly I know love pink.

  3. My room use to be all pink as well. It’s yellow now, but I still love the color pink. I wish I wore it more, because I look really good in it.

  4. I love pink and always have. People buy me random things just because they’re pink and it made them think of me. I’ve been slowly growing a collection of pink small appliances, kitchen accessories, and other home accessories, much to my boyfriend’s dismay (whatever, my color scheme is cohesive and his is erratic).

Good thing Pinterest exists so that I can learn ways to incorporate pink into my home when I no longer live in my beloved bachelorette pad.

  5. While I don’t detest pink as much as I used to, it is definitely not a color I enjoy looking at/wearing/being around, which is kind of lame seeing as I work in a store fairly defined by the color….

  6. Okay, I’ll be the first one to do it:
    I effing hate pink.

  7. I’m 20, and my room is still all pink. Not to mention the pink streak in my hair :D

  8. Love all the PINK comments….YAY PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. When I was 13 I finally got my own bedroom and I couldn’t wait to make it pink & white. 3 walls were painted pink and the 4th was pink & white striped wall paper, pink rug, pink chair, white comforter with pink pillows. Pink is a classic & never goes out of fashion.

  10. Same thing happened to me, ma’am: all my life was pink until I was 13, then I started to hate it. It was also because all my friends started saying “pink is for corny, silly girls” which I believed and got sick of pink. Then, a few months ago, I rediscovered it and loved it! I think it’s because Cézanne things with make up and some of her pink lipsticks… Dunno, but it’s cool!

  11. I have always loved pink. I, too, had the vomit-inducing pink room, in two different houses. I rebelled for a second and hated everything pink stood for, and then before I started college I dyed some of my hair pink. I wore it throughout undergrad and it defined me; everyone knew who I was because of it (as you can tell, I didn’t go to a big school). Now, I only have a little left, mostly to be able to get a job, and people say, “I don’t like your big girl hair.” So, pink and I have a love/hate relationship, because it DOESN’T find me, but people who have known me for the last four years think it does. However, I will always love it, there’s just something special about it. And those photos you posted reminded my why I dyed my hair pink in the first place.

    • i’m glad the photos reminded you of your love affair with pink :)

  12. I love pink. I love everything pink. I try to change it up, and while I love other colors, nothing makes me happier than pink. I don’t care how ‘girlie’ that makes me. I am a woman, and I love pink. Can’t help it. I gotta be me!

  13. I am very much into pink. Sometimes it makes me feel a little silly to be such a fan, considering my “advanced” age…but it just makes me happy. I even painted my bedroom pink!

  14. Pinterest is awesome and I love pink@

  15. I have a pink kitchen aid mixer. Very chic and a nice muted pink statement.

  16. pinterest is my heroin fix that i need every single day of my life. my obsession with it is unnatural and i worry for myself lol. but, as for the pink, i’m 23 years old and i make it a point to wear something pink every single day. pink is my favorite color and i’m obsessed. my phone case is pink. my water bottle is pink. my vans are pink. my walls are pink. i have a big pink flower in my car. all of my undies are pink. my tooth brush is pink. even my shampoo is pink! get the point? on my 23rd birthday, i thought it was time to grow up and get rid of a lot of the pink. wrongggggggggggg. i can’t bring myself to do it!!

i was reading this interesting article the other day that was talking about pink is not a real color. it’s just a figment of our imagination and it’s a color made with green. they were saying if you stare at something pink for a while and then immediately look at something white, all you’ll see is green. soo, basically, my entire life is a lie =\

    • WOW! you are definitely addicted to pink! lol love the color fact. thanks!

  17. Pinterest is so amazing! I’m hooked too :) And i’m very pro pink. In everything. I’ve had this discussion with friends and it’s mostly my blonde friends who feel this colour makes them too “Barbie” when they wear it…

    • oh barbie! thanks for the tip Celeste!

    • Yep, Barbie ruined it for us. With my blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes I feel kind of childish, princess-y or just silly wearing pink. I always feel the need to find an “angle” when I incorporate any pink into my wardrobe (the neon pink and nuetrals trend really opened some pink doors for me).

  18. when i was little i would wear nothing but. i would end each altercation with my mother with “pink is for girls!”

and despite a brief rebellion around 12/13…i still love pink. it’s my favorite color. it looks great with neutrals and almost every tone of it is beautiful. and yes, pink is still for girls. and that’s still awesome.

    • right?! though i will say some men can really pull off a pink shirt! :)

  19. It might be because I have an obsession with neutrals but I love muted pinks. Something soft, delicate, and ladylike that can be wore really feminine or roughed up with some black and leather. Pink -despite being a traditionally “girly” color- I find to be really versatile and easily adaptable to whatever look you’re going for. So I say yay for this one.

    • YAY! and agreed. I love the contrast of pink and leather. nice.
