There comes a point in every person’s life when you finally realize that when it really and truly comes down to it, no one’s going to look out for you but YOU. And sometimes, the only person you CAN look out for is yourself. So when rumors surfaced that the lady-driven, daytime round-table talk show, The View, might be switching up their hosting lineup, Whoopi Goldberg succinctly announced that no matter who gets replaced, she “don’t give a f*ck.”
“Let me tell you this about The View,” she said. “I take a paycheck every other week. That’s all I do. I could give a sh*t what comes. I do my job — I have a contract. That’s where I stand.”
And to a degree, I think that’s something we can all relate to when it comes to work. We don’t necessarily get to talk as, um, freely as Whoopi, but no matter how wonderful/terrible your co-workers are, you’re not getting paid to like people (bonus if you do though) — You’re getting paid to “show up and be cute” and do the damn thing.
Celebrities! They’re just like us! (But with contracts and ginormous salaries.)
