Teenage Wasteland

The Inbetweeners Premieres Tonight!

GIGGLERS!!!! I’m super excited for this new show that’s coming out tonight!!

It’s called The Inbetweeners. It’s a a new show for teenagers based on the British sitcom The Inbetweeners. It’s about 4 guys in Highschool named Will, Simon, Jay, and Neil. They’re not popular, but they’re not geeks either. They’re kind of in the middle… in between! Get it? Hahaha.

The show follows them on the quest to become popular and all the crazy things they do to get there… But sometimes the things they do are completely humiliating and awkward.

I’m really looking forward to The Inbetweeners! Some people are saying that it’s not going to be that good, but I think it looks really funny from the clips I’ve seen of it.

Will you watch The Inbetweeners? Are you looking forward to it? Make sure to leave a comment below, or talk to me on my tumblr or twitter.

Tune into MTV on August 20th at 10:30 EST to watch the first episode of The Inbetweeners, and check out a clip of it here!

I’m from England, and I’ve seen the original Inbetweeners, and it’s pretty much the funniest thing ever. The advert for this remake makes it look like a scene by scene version of the original, but a lot less funny. If any of you States viewers find it rubbish PLEASE check out the original – I honestly don’t know why they bother remaking our shows, it really does seem so pointless.

However, if it turns out to be good I’ll happily eat my hat (in a manner of speaking – it doesn’t sound like the most appetising meal) and be pleased that those people who remake our good British shows actually did something right for a change.

I’m watching the original right now, and it this new one is ANYTHING like the American remake of Skins I will not be watching. The should just air the British one here, because it’s great.

I’m not from England, but I have seen the original sitcom(britcom) as well as the movie…I don’t think it’s a great idea to make an American version frankly. Those never seem to work out. Part of what’s so funny about the original is the language and more mature content (plus the accents don’t hurt). It’s not for the faint of heart, but it is absolutely hilarious. I’ll just enjoy the original, but I wish them all the best with this.

I was just SO SO SO confused when I saw this, because I was like, “The Inbetweeners is not a new show! I’ve already seen the first series!” Then I kept reading and saw that it’s a new, American version. Why does America keep redoing everything that the UK already did well? The Office, The Inbetweeners, Skins…ugh. As an American, I’d rather watch the original, hilarious versions than a less sarcastic, poorly acted ripoff.

I agree, PLEASE watch the original! Unless you’re easily offended, because it’s probably the most obscene thing you’ll ever experience with your eyes and ears.

I wish we would stop doing EXACT remakes of British TV shows…. we always mess them up… why not take the idea and make our own version?? The Office is the only thing that I think we remade well.

Sounds quite different to.the UK version. They’re not trying to get popular in the UK one. They’re trying to get laid!

nice article mikaela but i’ve just noticed your age and if this US version is anything like our original then i would do your innocence a favour and go to bed before it starts!

If it is ANYTHING like the original this Tv show is NOT for a 13 year old! well at least in my opinion, they just talk about sex, having sex, wanting to have sex, and curse a lot. but it is SUPER funny.

The original Inbetweeners is better I wish MTV would stop trying to remake British shows they failed with Skins which is another excellent British tv show.

This is going to be disgraceful. I saw the trailer for the first episode. Yet again, America bastardizes another brilliant British show. The American version is literally word for word the british version. They didnt even bother to change the characters, and just about tweaked the dialogue. Removing things that are too complicated for the American comedic sensibility, removing all British slang and dulling down the sarcasm. Sad sad times.

I have watched the original and I don’t think a remake is a good idea because those British actors do such a good job! There is no way that we could do it any better! However, I have seen both the U.S and U.K version of The Office and I LOVE the U.S version of that show better, so, we will have to see!

I’m British and I seriously have no idea why they’re remaking the show. The original is one of my favourite tv shows, I could watch them over and over. Mikaela, you NEED to watch the original. You will love it!
