Ten of the Best Things Adrien Brody Has Ever Done

Sunday was a little sweeter last week because it was the day that Mr. Adrien Brody was born. Do you know Brody? The man who is not only a phenomenal actor, serious or comedic, but also definitely shaves his face a lot? And maybe drinks Stella? Awww yeah, let’s discuss his accomplishments, besides being like suuuuuper attractive.

1. He was born.
I mean, seems obvious, but can we thank his parents real quick here? Thanks guys. We needed him here in the world.

2. He won an Oscar, but more importantly, he kissed Halle Berry upon reception of his Oscar.
If you have not seen The Pianist, I am not necessarily going to recommend you run out and rent it, or whatever kids do these days, because it is seriously sad. Brody is incredible in the film, obviously, but it is pretty darn amazing that he won the Best Oscar statue because he became, and still actually is, the youngest Best Actor of all-time. (He was 29.) Fun fact: that’s the only Final Jeopardy! question I have ever known.

And then he kissed Halle Berry. And hilariously, the next year when he was presenting the Best Actress Oscar (Academy tradition to have the previous year’s recipient present), he sprayed Binaca in his mouth before he read the name Charlize Theron. So awesome.

3. He acted with Beyoncé.
Also, can we talk about how I like Beyoncé’s “I’d Rather Go Blind” the best of all the covers of that song? Okay, that has nothing to do with Brody, but he acted alongside Beyoncé. I feel like anyone who has ever been in a room with Beyoncé has got to feel pretty darn good about themselves.

4. He has broken his nose three times.
…you know, doing his own stunts, NBD. Alright, you kids are about to find out that Jess Tholmer has a super weird nose thing. Back when I was in college, my very best friend exclaimed ALOUD IN FRONT OF OTHERS: “Hey, you’d love that guy! He has a huge schnoz!”

Brody already has a great nose, but the more crooked the nose, the more character in the man. Or the woman. It is also the reason I love Cameron Diaz.

5. He did a love scene with Keira Knightley.
And it was a gooooood one, and in a movie no one has ever seen ever. My best friend and I were the only people in the movie theater when we went to see it. Yeah in the movie theater, what of it? I have a crush on Adrien Brody. We even bought popcorn.

6. Tori Amos’ video.
…which is suuuper weird, but so is she! And so is he probably. But ohmygod he is really hot in this video, even when his neck is weird and long like a giraffe.

Exactly what is wrong with me?

7. He wants an unwritten life.

Bloom: I can’t wake up next to another stranger, who thinks they know me, or even wants to know me, cause I don’t know – who – I’m thirty five years old, and I, I’m useless, I’m crippled, I don’t, I’ve only ever lived life through these roles that aren’t me, that are written for me by you.
Stephen: Tell me what you want.
Bloom: Why? So you can write me a role in a story where I get it? You’re not listening to me. I want a real thing, I want to do things–how I don’t know are gonna work out. Ah..I want a…
Stephen: You want an unwritten life.

…sure Bloom is a character he played, but I can see similarities in them, so I’m rollin’ with it.

 8. He was Owen Wilson and Jason Schwartzman’s brother.

And there is not much better than that sentence.

Besides that picture.

9. He did a Predator remake.
Did we need a Predator remake? Absolutely not! Did I see it in the theater? Absolutely I did! Is Brody a hotter lead than Arnold? DUH. Say no more.

I love Predator, even Predators. Don’t curr.

Wait, say what? I just found this out right now, but then I googled it obviously, and it verifies as truth.

So you’re telling me that Brody was in Angels in the Outfield with our boy JGL, AND Danny Glover, who is the lead in Predators? Nice. I don’t know, I’m just stretching for connections here. Look at his hair, and a man in a baseball uniform is a total thing for some girls, but I’d rather see him without his shirt and okayyyyy…

…to be honest, I think Brody is one of the finest actors we have out there, and I am sorry for dwelling so much on his attractiveness.

Happy Belated Birthday, Mr. Brody!

Can I say that I loved “The Jacket”, and I too was one of the only people in the theater.

Also, a very young Matthew McConaughey is also in Angels in the Outfield.

Wow, I kind of forgot how hot he looks in that Tori Amos video! I’ve always thought he has really sexy hands (c’mon, he does…) so having him as nothing but a face and a hand is pretty ideal. I think he’s pretty much the ideal man for those of us who have a thing for dude with big noses.

I have seen “The Jacket” and I actually liked it. It’s sort of weird (which seems to be a recurrent word around here lol) and dark but it works. I own a copy so…
Bottom line I love Adrien, I watched King Kong basically because he was in it. I think he is such a great actor (c’mon, his Dali in Midnight in Paris was absolutely perfect). He even managed to make “Dummy” a cute story instead of a really creepy movie (kind of what Ryan Gosling did with Lars…).

I’ll never forget when I read a review of Adrien Brody’s performance in the Pianist, and how the reviewer noted that what made his performance uniquely talented was the fact that most of his scenes were shot alone, and Brody had to rely on simply his talent as an actor, without the benefit of playing off of the lines or emotions of another actor being in the scene. That really put things into perspective for me! I can’t imagine doing something like that so well, and for that, and many other reasons, I <3 Adrien Brody!

He was really good in this independent film “High School”. The film was….questionable. To tell you the truth, I only saw it because a former co-worker of mine was an extra in the film (SUP JASON!!!). But yeah…Adrien’s acting was probably the only good thing about the film. Hah

    11. He bought a Castle (Where I live) for his now ex-girlfriend and had it completely renovated with the help of none other than Giorgio Armani. Of course, when they broke up he kept it, but thats just a minor detail. Not to mention he has monetarily supported a theater around where I live, he has attended shows and what not.

“Angels in the Outfield” is an awesome movie but I love him in “the Pianist” and “King Kong”. I mean, he trekked through the jungle and faced dinosaurs and a giant ape all to rescue a girl. If that’s not love then I don’t know what is!

Watch Brody in “The Experiment.” So good with Forest Whitaker.!
