I received a Father’s Day “gut-busting” gift set from Spanx last week which included: a Cotton Control Crew, Cotton Comfort Boxer Briefs, a spice rub, and a SPANX koozie. I hadn’t even realized that Spanx made stuff for men before I was offered the gift set, let alone a spice rub for my meat, well, for like steak I mean. I have girl friends that wear Spanx (is that supposed to be a secret? Am I breaking some code by revealing that?) and they say it’s magic. Well, I channeled my inner David Copperfield, without the creepiness or sexy eyebrows, and tried the Spanx on. I was surprised at how comfortable they were, even as tight as the Crew was, I never felt like I couldn’t breathe and my butt looked pretty good too.

I decided to spend the entire day yesterday wearing the Spanx, you know, just to get the FEEL of it. I wanted an authentic experience, like going to Chipotle. I had so many ideas on how I was going to document my day in Spanx, but in the end only ended up doing one thing: watching clips of The Comeback starring Lisa Kudrow on Youtube. I wonder how Lisa Kudrow feels about Spanx? If you’ve never seen The Comeback you are missing the complete genius of Lisa Kudrow and Michael Patrick King in one of the most underrated TV shows ever and if you’ve seen it you know exactly what I mean when I say, “I got it!” I got Spanx. I understood why it’s such a successful business and why any man who feel like they need a little extra support would wear Spanx for Men. Spanx gets it.

After watching all those clips of The Comeback I decided I probably should, no I needed to, make a video of myself in the Spanx. Don’t worry I wore pants.
