Last week was my 49th birthday and it got me thinking. Initially, I begin to think that this is the big one before the big one. Getting older has never really bothered me; for the most part I am fine with all the trade-offs that happen with age and sometimes they even feel fair, like being experienced or feeling situated and comfortable. These feelings are quite nice and very easy to get used to from one end of the day to the next. But the reality is life just feels better to me if I am taking on new challenges, setting news goals and surprising myself about myself.
My dad always practiced the theory that every seven years your cells regenerate themselves and it’s a time in your life to take notice of the life that you lead. This is an opportunity that is presenting itself before me and I can’t refuse. I can always play around with the usual goals like dieting and increasing my physical activity and I will for sure. The big thing is to get out of my comfort zone and set my sights on something new. That being said, I will be writing and contributing to HelloGiggles.
Having never done anything like this before, I am nervous and excited. I have been an entrepreneur my entire life. I started my first business at eight years old, selling homemade beach crafts door to door. I raised my daughter knowing a couple of simple facts, one of which is that in life you need 991/2% nerve to get by. The other is that even if you fall on your face, you are still moving forward.
As I make the final sprint toward a half century of life, I will document my thoughts and day-to-day routines here. Any advice I give is also what I practice. I am looking forward to sharing stories, experience and projects with whoever might be interested and I hope you’d like to do the same in the comments section.
