Slideshows "Snail Mail My Email" A Project by Ivan Cash Eliza Hurwitz

Artist Ivan Cash has re-launched his popular “Snail Mail My Email” project on Monday, November 12, 2012 to revive the lost art of letter writing. For one week,  beginning on November 12, Cash accepted emails via his website (www.snailmailmyemail.org) that he then turned into a handwritten letter and mailed it for FREE! The project was designed to increase awareness of the appeal of snail mail: the importance of slowing down, being mindful and deliberate, providing one’s undivided attention, and truly connecting with people in thoughtful and meaningful ways.

For today’s gallery I’ve decided to include some samples of Cash’s work from his latest project. I hope you guys enjoy his beautiful artwork as much as we do!

  1. That’s really cool! I have attempted to become pen pals with 3 of my little cousins. They were really into it at first but their response time has started to slow…hopefully I can get them to pick it up again! I really do find it much more meaningful than email. I just found a shoebox full of letters from old pen pals of mine. The handwriting, stationary, ways of folding the letters, little doodles, stickers attached, etc. just makes it more unique and meaningful!
