This American Idol winner is bound to have a few exciting months ahead. Kelly Clarkson just teased her new single, and from the sound of it, she’s got yet another winner. And trust us — we didn’t even get much sound, besides a “hey hey,” but Clarkson has never disappointed us before.

In the teaser, Clarkson shows off just a tiny bit of herself — instead, the 15 seconds primarily focuses on a blooming flower. Clarkson was kind enough to put a release date in the Twitter caption, which means that — while the teaser itself is incredibly cryptic — at least we know when we’ll get all of our questions answered.

Based on her typical schedule, the singer is due for a new album.

Her last studio album, Piece by Piece, was released in February of 2015. Before that, she had Wrapped in Red which was released in October of 2013. Since that one is a holiday album, it arrived just in time for Christmas.

If you’re in the mood to try and decode more of Clarkson’s codes, she dropped a slightly different teaser on Instagram. While the audio is the same, the video is slightly different — especially near the end.

We do know that Clarkson’s upcoming album is going to be a lot more “her.” Variety reported back in May that Atlantic Records co-chairman/COO Julie Greenwald was more than impressed with the singer’s latest hits.

“We all know Kelly has this big voice,” Greenwald said. “But these songs have so much attitude. She’s not walking through the door, she’s kicking it the f— open.”

Clarkson is set to perform on The Today Show on the 8th of this month, so it makes sense for the first song from her new album to drop just a day before. Who knows if it’ll be a ballad, like “Because of You” or “Breaking Your Own Heart”? Or maybe it’ll be a bit poppier, like “Since U Been Gone,” which still has us dancing. No matter what,  we’ll be glued to our computers on the 7th to hear what she has to offer.
