Reading Almie’s latest list got me reminiscing like mad about the good old days of Nickelodeon. Luckily for us, we’re not the only ones in the world jonesing for some Stick Stickley-esque throwbacks. Ryan Howe (formerly the artist [not actor] known as Luke Perry & member of Greatest Hits) has a new project going called Punks On Mars and has crafted this modern rendition of “Shout Your Lungs Out”. In case the tune doesn’t ring a bell, it is one of the premier jams from one of our favorite cartoon bands, The Beets, from Doug. Punks On Mars has nailed a pitch-perfect fuzz-glam vibe in this jam, and I’m personally looking forward to a cover of “Banging On A Trash Can” in the future.
