There are a few undisputed truths in the world — no one looks good in a fanny pack, cold pizza tastes just as good in the morning, and President Barak Obama is the coolest president to ever be in office during America’s 240 years. Seriously, the man just oozes coolness. To be fair, a lot of that coolness comes from his amazing wife Michelle, but he does have a lot of swagger on his own. Case in point, when he danced to Drake’s “Hotline Bling” on Friday night during a White House collaboration with BET called “Love and Happiness.”
Because Barack Obama is nearing the end of his second term, a lot of “this is the last time” moments have started to happen — including this one. The “Love and Happiness” collaboration was the final musical event the Obamas will host at the White House.
The prominent guest list included some top tier musicians like Usher, The Roots, Janelle Monáe, De La Soul, Jill Scott, Yolanda Adams, and Michelle Williams.
This isn’t the first time President Obama has surprised everyone musically. It wasn’t that long ago when he belted out Al Green’s hit song “Let’s Stay Together.”
The man knows how to command a room with his voice, inspire people with his speeches, and set an example of how to be an awesome president with his actions. It will be a sad day when he leaves office, but until then, we can at least enjoy his sense of humor.
Whoever takes over his role will have big shoes to fill — that’s for sure.
