Beetlejuice is a classic movie – who here hasn’t seen it at least 50 times? While it’s hard to believe that the Tim Burton-directed film was released nearly 26 years ago (don’t you feel old?), it’s certainly not a shock that people would love a sequel. Well, today’s your lucky day: Beetlejuice 2 is in the works!
Star Michael Keaton recently revealed to MTV News (via Variety) that writer Seth Grahame-Smith has been working on the script since 2012 and that he and Burton recently began discussing the beginning stages of making another installment of the story.
“I’ve emailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff. I always said that’s the one thing I’d like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another.”
“Now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away, we’ve talked to each other, and emailed each other, and if he’s in, it’s going to be hard not to be in.”
EXCELLENT! I’m not a Tim Burton fan, but I am totally a Beetlejuice fan, so I can’t wait to see the sequel. Will you go to see it?
