This song has been floating about the blogosphere for more than a minute, but I can’t let you live through summer 2011 without hearing it. Oregon Bike Trails is singer/songwriter Zach Yudin, hailing from the California beach community of Santa Monica. His music is rife with downright summer swag from the dog days of “dah”s and “doo”s long since past. “High School Lover” has me yearning for afternoons on the beach scoping for summer flings, the scent of Maui Babe Browning lotion and silly, teenage butterflies. I want to blast it on my favorite shoreline, and get down on a round of Beach Blanket Bingo in a brand new bikini. Unfortunately– along with the rest of my Los Angeles residents– I will be on self-imposed house arrest due to Carmageddon this weekend, so for now I will just have to stick to dance parties in my living room.

Love love love.
Also, polar bear on the beach? I like where this is going.
Never fail to impress, Hair. Spread the jams and I will beach for you down in the LBC this weekend.
YOU BETTER! I need someone representing for me on some sand somewhere! <3
I especially love this song because they use one of those cool shaker eggs with sand in it or whatever during the chorus. Thanks for sharing it – tres cool summer tune.
Yeah! I love that!
