I must say, I love love love all your "old lady movie nights"! Hilarious, and everything I've been thinking, only you say it way better then I could! My parents had a Rogers and Hammerstein movie set when I was little, SoM is the best, but I always had a soft spot for "State Fair"!

when i was little i equated the scene where the von trapps leave the concert with the famous saying, "elvis has left the building." so even though i can hear and comprehend english, whenever the guy runs out and says they're gone i always imagined him saying, "the von trapps have left the building." and then whenever i heard someone say, "elvis has left the building," i imagined him running off stage fleeing from the police a la SoM. makes total sense, right?

This is amazing. As a child I loathed The Sound of Music - it was my mother's favourite movie which essentially meant that we watched it at least once a week. Now that I've recovered from that emotional damage, as an adult I adore it. Nothing is more nostalgic than reliving it (every now and then). The point of this little story of mine - you need to watch Von Trapped! I'm fairly certain you will appreciate it...

Haha I love this and the previous one! I only disagree with number 8, Climb Every Mountain is classic and beautiful and awesome! She's telling her what to do in the song! lol. My sister and I used to belt that song at the top of our lungs when we were little, trying to be like the Reverend Mother. I totally have to go watch this movie now...

HILARIOUS!! I literally just cry-laughed through this whole article because these were EXACTLY my feelings about this movie when I was 11 and watched it like every day and spoke every line and sang every song (except for Climb Every Mountain- definitely fast forwarded that sh$t). BRB- I have to go watch the Sound of Music, part 2.
