DomestiCAITed New Year's Cocktail: The Giggler Caitlin Fitzgibbons

During the week between Christmas and NYE, my family and friends get together for dinner and cocktails to keep the holiday cheer going into the New Year. I’m always looking for a quick and easy appetizer or drink to contribute even if I’m not hosting. This year, I have the perfect appertif – a spin on a cocktail my roommate and I recently had at a party. In honor of HG, I’ll call it “The Giggler”.

What You’ll Need:
2 parts Prosecco or Champagne
1 part St.Germain
2 parts Grapefruit Juice
A pitcher
Festive glasses

In a pitcher, mix Prosecco/Champagne, St. Germain, and grapefruit juice and stir until blended. (Tip: use fresh or natural grapefruit juice so the drink is more tangy than sweet.) For those of you not familiar with St.Germain, it is an incredibly fragrant French liqueur made with elderflower blossoms.

Prior to pouring the drink, rim your glasses in gold or white sugar. Rimming the glass with grapefruit prior to coating in sugar will help the granules stick.

When the glasses are prepared, pour the drink from the pitcher into the glasses until they are 3/4th full, then top with Prosecco/Champagne.The drink is refreshing and pairs perfectly with savory appetizers. Happy New Year!
xx,
Caitlin

  1. Yesterday I was looking for a cocktail recipe to bring to the NYE party I was attending. This recipe was the first thing I found and loved. I had never heard of St. Germaine but when I walked into BevMo I was immediately greeted by a few bottles of St. Germaine. Right then and there, DONE, I knew this was what I was making and it was a hit! Thanks for the yummy recipe :D

  2. LOVE this! Thanks!
