I tried that same look over teal nail polish, and they looked fantastic.
@Lynne: Paint your nails a off white-ish color for the base, then put some rubbing alcohol or vodka in a little dish. Make a few small pieces of random news print and have them ready. Dip 1 nail at a time into the alcohol then quickly put a piece of newsprint over the nail and hold it there for 30 secs or so (kind of like a temporary tattoo). Once you finish all of your nails put a clear coat on to protect the print
