Well, at least you didn't try to do a streak like that at home! Last summer, my mom went COMPLETELY INSANE and decided to let me dye my entire head of hair fire engine red. We did it at home, though.. Which, needless to say, had disastrous results. I'd been dyeing my hair since I was about your age (my natural color is a dark ash blonde that looks gray, ugh), so we had to bleach it to get the color out. That took two steps since the color was so dark. Then, the dye that I thought was supposed to be a kinda dark-ish red turned out to be fuchsia, about like your streak. Only I didn't have enough to cover my whole head properly, so it came out looking like I'd dyed my hair with pink highlighter fluid!! My 15-year-old brother called me Bubble-Gum Head for two days. Once we finally got the right kind of dye, the red looked a lot better. It took a quite a bit of upkeep, though. And of course, a few months later I had a similar disaster trying to cover it back up to a "natural" shade to comply with school dress code for my senior year... I wanted to go back to something closer to my natural shade (maintaining fake color is a LOT of work, no matter the shade, and I was getting tired of it after 6 years. The red-hair debacle was the straw that broke the camel's back.). So, first we had to use a color remover to strip the red back out. Then I tried 2 different shades of ash brown, since I thought going a bit darker might help cover better. They each came out a rather hideous shade of purple-brown. You know that color you get when you try to mix red and blue food coloring to get purple Easter eggs, but it comes out brown? That's what color my hair was. Finally, the night before school started, my mom and I just said 'forget it' and covered it all over with black. Which of course was a disaster to try to lighten back up... My hair grows so slow that I still have scars from those battles in the bottom 4 or 5 inches of my hair. *shudder*

Thankfully, both your hair trauma and mine are in the past. It sounds like we both learned from it though, which is good. I really like your streak!! I wish I was brave enough to go there again. I'll probably just do clip-ins or extensions next time I want some color lol. Yours looks great! :)

Gonna throw this out there. You may want to have your thyroid checked. A side effect of thyriod issues is your hair turning orange in color when you try to dye it.
The pink streak is cute btw. :) I had a hair disaster that turned my hair a teal green color once. Yikes! :)

Your mom is so understanding. I was your age the first time I dyed my hair. I didn't have help from my grandma, but from a friend my age. Needless to say, our inexperience in the hair dying business caused a lot of headaches. My mom went ballistic, gave me a 2-hour lecture and made me take money out of my allowance to pay to get it fixed at the hair salon. Good times. Your hair looks gorgeous, by the way.
