Videos Mutant Cuteness
Stephanie Sparer

As someone who’s afraid of birds, I was hesitant to take a look at a video about a mutant parakeet sent in by reader Jennifer Wadsworth, but after I got a look at Whipper’s endearing mutant face, all my fears were set aside. This bird was actually abandoned at birth by its mother because of how he looked (guess she didn’t like totally cute birds). Cue tears, right? Never fear though, in a fairy-tale turn of events, Whipper ended up living the good life with an owner in New Zealand who always has plenty of bird feed on hand. So, go ahead and take a gander at only the most adorable bird I’ve ever seen before. It’s gonna make your day.

  2. Hi, Great work! I saw this really great post today.

  3. Excellent post. I was checking constantly this blog and I am inspired! Extremely useful info specially the last phase :) I care for such information a lot. I was looking for this certain info for a long time. Thanks and best of luck.

  4. Ok…. so a part of me is amazed (at the do on that bird) part of me is sad that he was abandoned as a baby bird but I’m also HAPPY that he’s got such a loving momma now… one question: where’s his beak?

  5. It kinda looks like a lettuce to me hehe

  6. Aww he’s so pretty…

  7. SEEN IT BEFORE! Creeps me out, and I’m a parrot owner (I used to be afraid of birds, and one day I thought: this should change. So I bought one. That’s normal, right? … right?) I mean I get the appeal but the disease that bird has will shorten it’s life considerably because all it’s energy and nutrients go towards making those feathers. Poor budgie.

  8. Day totally made. I think tomorrow’s made.

  9. I’ve become obsessed with this video. I watched it, like, six or seven times today. He still freaks me out a little, though.

  10. Still freaked me out a bit with how deformed it’s face looked

  11. OMG, that’s one freakishly cute fuzzball! *tries out agnes voice*: “HE’S SO FLUFFY!!!”
love it, and birds actually creep me out a little bit too, with their delicate wings and their scary claws… but i so wanna cuddle this one… teehee

  12. Whilst he is adorable his mutantness kinda freaked me out a bit.

  13. I’m so glad I’m not alone, Stephanie! I swear, not ten minutes ago I was just telling my roommate about how I’m a little afraid of birds, too. The only thing that bugs me about this one is that I want to give it a little Blair Waldorf hairband so we can see its pretty face. And how adorbs that it is a *Kiwi* bird, and it’s fuzzy and bright green??
