ModCloth "Make The Cut Collection" Launches With Crowdsourced Designs!

This week, ModCloth launched their “Make The Cut” Collection, which was the first ever to be comprised primarily of crowdsourced designs that were voted on and selected by its online community. The final collection is made up of seven designs submitted from aspiring designers and three designs by Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Susan Gregg Koger. How cool is that? Seven designers got to see their sketches below become realities!

The “Make The Cut” contest, which launched in November, started with Susan Gregg Koger and her team reviewing over 1,900 entries from designs based on a mood board Susan had created. They then selected 90 final designs to post on Facebook for the community vote. The 7 winning sketches above garnered the most votes, which scored their designers $500 and their name on the garment’s tag.

The second “Make the Cut” contest was held in March, with a 1960s Back-to-School theme. The winning items from that contest will launch as a collection in September. ModCloth plans to launch another contest this summer with a holiday theme, so if you’re a budding designer, make sure to enter!

Below are are some of my favorites from the collection, but you can shop the entire collection here. Vintage chic at its best… congrats to the winners!
