My name is Maria DeCotis. I play the ukulele and the banjo. I love singing. I love Lindy Hop; it’s been a big part of my life for about two years. I’m really proud of being 100% Italian. I’m currently earning my BFA in Acting at Boston University. I’m obsessed with Hummus. I’m currently writing my first screenplay! I’m from a little town called Fayetteville, Georgia. I am small and look young, however I am 21. I know people think I’m lying when I buy wine from Trader Joe’s. I write my own music. Despite that I am an actress, I am pretty shy. I like playing in the rain. I’m a firm believer in “Laughter is the best medicine.” Fun Fact: Before I studied acting, I studied mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech for 3 semesters in Atlanta, Georgia. So, I think math is really fun. I like to over exaggerate for effect. Cary Grant owns my heart. Bubbles. I love cuddling and laughing. I used to play in a 60’s pop band (all original music) until I moved to Boston. Musical influences: my favorite men are The Avett Brothers and Sam Cooke and my favorite women are Billie Holiday and Zooey Deschanel. Dark lipstick is my jam. I love being a girl. Flowers. Lace. Polka dots. Flannel. “Love is my religion” -Ziggy Marley. Above all, I love storytelling and connecting people together through the universal language of art. Oh and I LOVE HelloGiggles.
