Videos Life-Size: An American Classic Caitlin Fitzgibbons

I’m not really sure why, but “Be A Star” just popped into my head the other day while I was cleaning my room. I know, it’s kind of an epic thought for such a mundane task. I wasn’t just thinking about being a star, of course. I was thinking about the song in Life-Size, everyone’s favorite Disney movie from 2000 starring Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks.

In case you haven’t seen it – which you definitely should – Lindsay Lohan plays this little girl named Casey Stuart. One day, while trying to resurrect her mother with a simple spell, it goes all sorts of wrong and she makes her doll Eve come to life (a typical coming of age story, I know). Tyra Banks plays Eve, this naive doll who’s full of life and just wants to kick it as a human.

Eve knows how to dress for any occasion and she loves to sing. While the plot has all sorts of dark twists and turns, which you should definitely check out on your own time, this song ‘Be A Star’ is an immediate must listen. It’s inspirational.

The ballad (if I may call it that) has simple yet important messages for young women. Playing this song also seems to turn people on, as you’ll see in the video.

Please feel free analyze the lyrics below or use them to sing from at your leisure:

Be A Star:
Eve’s great, no matter where she goes
Dress her up from her head to her toes
On the town, at the ball
Eve loves high fashion
After dark at the club
She’ll spend the whole night dancing

Shine bright, shine bright
Don’t be shy, be a star
Where you live, where you are
Shout it out, be a star
Shine bright, shine far
Be a star

Where you live, where you are
Be a star
Shine bright, shine bright,
Don’t be shy, be a star
Where you live, where you are
Be a star

Shine bright, shine far
Be a star
Where you live, where you are
Be a star
Shine bright, shine far
Don’t be shy, be a star
