Style Me GrasieLayering For FallGrasie Mercedes

I’ve been getting quite a few questions about dressing for Fall as of late, so I decided to do a quick video about my favorite part of Fall Fashion… LAYERING! Check it out and leave a comment letting me know what you think and YOUR favorite part of Fall Fashion. Would love to hear from ya!

In this video: Jeans, tank, top, vest, jacket and earrings from Urban Outfitters. Circle scarf from American Apparel. Lipstick from MAC Cosmetics in Chili

Submit your style inquiries to info@hellogiggles.com and write Style Me Grasie in the subject line and your question could be the subject of my next post. But first, check out past  Style Me Grasie posts, your question may have already been answered. Thanks!

  1. stylish AND hilarious. loved it.
you should do a video for different SHOES in cold weather! i always fall back to tall riding boots (bo-ring)…but i want to venture out and try something different this year.

  2. Love this! I’m pretty terrible with layering (unless it’s a beach coverup), so I needed this. :)

  3. What I never understood about layering fashion is that it is far less practical than people think. Anyone’s who grown up with real cold temperatures knows that this won’t do anything for you in autumn/winter/spring. Because although it looks good, the fact that for fashion’s sake – so everyone can see your outfit – you’re walking around with your coat/vest open means that the air just rushes straight at you and makes you freeze! But if you close your coat and cover up the layers… you’re not layering “fashion” properly! You just look as normal and sensible as everyone else. The key? Get a nice coat, stick that over everything, and don’t worry all the time about what’s underneath!

    • Hi Stephanie! I grew up in NYC so I know all about cold temps…this look is for Fall when it’s a brisk 60-50 or so degrees and leaving your jacket open is not so bad. Also, layering is great for keeping warm indoors in the colder months. You can still use this look and just switch out the light army jacket for a warmer winter coat. Then, when you’re indoors the vest and scarf will still keep you cozy. Thanks for your comment :)
