So, I had a very busy weekend and lost my only decent autumn jumper. The only one the right length to wear with my black jeans and the only one that somehow kept me warm when I am cold but not too hot when the heating is on. Yes, it’s heating weather in the UK already (Please don’t judge – we’ve all got colds and it’s getting dark very early in the evening.)
Obviously, I’ll head to Zara to replace it. I don’t often buy from the high street – I love vintage clothes, but the musty smell in second-hand knitwear is hard to get rid of. Woollens from the cheaper high-street shops tend to get bobbles on within just a few washes. Zara is the perfect mid-point between affordable and quality.
This cable-knit cardie is perfect to replace my lost jumper. It’s suitably plain to suit my winter style (practical comfort generally wins over fashion), but the gold buttons suggest some kind of effort has been made. It’ll go well on its own as in the picture, or over layers. Perfect.
(Available at Zara.com or on the high street.)
